From the directors
Keith and Kathy
"From our beginnings in 1986 to the present, Kathy and I have seen God do amazing things beyond our comprehension. It never crossed our mind that we would be doing what we do! I mean...Kathy, obviously, is very talented, and had previously danced with the Mississippi Ballet and won a silver medal at the 1982 worlds, and I, on the other hand, was a touring musician with the band David and the Giants. Yet here we are...working together with a amazing group of people in what we believe is the most unique dance company in the world.”
Our vision as Ballet Magnificat! is to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to the largest audience possible through dance, dance/drama, and personal testimony.
Help restore dance as a worshipful part of Church life by exploring with congregations the role that movement and action can play in expressing faith.
Give public performances to special audiences, such as orphanages, hospitals, prisons, and senior centers, in recognition of their special place in the eyes of God.
Provide a visual and artistic Christian witness to the artistic community in particular.
Fulfill Jesus' command in Mark 16:15 through international tours and workshops.
Train dancers of all ages in a Christ-centered environment to use dance as a form of worship, with a focus on mission and ministry; to serve dancers and parents who desire a distinctly Christian education for themselves and their children, with biblical principles integrated into every aspect of our teaching.
We continue to feel the urgency in the Spirit as we believe time is short (Matthew 3:12 and Luke 3:17)… our hearts’ desire here at Ballet Magnificat! it is about being faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ and being available for what He has for us.
This is not about our kingdom, but about his kingdom!
The Lord opened doors for us in Curitiba and we are grateful for this great opportunity to start over here in Brazil!
